Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim
The Great Salt Lake Open Water Swim is a USMS sanctioned open water race in the salty waters of the Great Salt Lake.  The race has 1-mile and 8-mile distances and is open to wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers.

Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim
The Deer Creek Open Water Marathon Swim is a USMS sanctioned swim that takes place in the beautiful mountain setting of Deer Creek Reservoir.  Race distances include 1 mile, 5K, 10K and 10 miles and is open to wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers.  All participants are required to provide their own kayak support.

LV10K
The Las Vegas 10K takes place at beautiful Lake Mead, just outside of Las Vegas.  The 2013 race is the national USMS 10K championship race.  Other distances include 5K and 1 mile.

Slam the Dam
Slam the Dam also takes place at Lake Mead near Las Vegas.  The race is USMS sanctioned and consists of  a youth race, 1.2 mile, 2.4 mile, and 8K distances.  For an added challenge, combine the 2.4 mile and 1.2 mile races for the "Super Slam" or the 8K and 1.2 mile races for the "Grand Slam".

Organizations:

Bear Lake Swimming Association
The BLSA is an organization that was started to keep track of Bear Lake swims and records.  It is also a source for information about swimming at Bear Lake.

Salt Lake Open Water (SLOW)
SLOW is a USMS club operated under the Utah Masters LMSC.  The focus of SLOW is on open water swimming, having fun and making new friends.

Wasatch Front Polar Bear Club
The Wasatch Front Polar Bear Club swims year-round at various spots along the Wasatch Front.  The WFPBC also host the annual New Year's Swim, an open water swimming race held at the Great Salt Lake on New Year's day.
